Dr. Stevens has been retained in over 65 matters to serve as a litigation consultant and testifying expert witness in disputes in the life sciences and business methods. His practice falls in two areas:

U.S.C. ยง284 provides that:
Upon finding for the claimant the court shall award the claimant damages adequate to compensate for the infringement, but in no event less than a reasonable royalty for the use made of the invention by the infringer, together with interest and costs as fixed by the court
Unless lost profits are being sought, Dr. Stevens will determine the total damages owed. If lost profits are sought, he will work with an economist and determine the reasonable royalty that should apply to that portion of the accused sales that are determined not to be subject to lost profits.
